Rosie Perez was born on September 6, 1964, in Brooklyn New York. She studied in Los Angeles, and her parents are Puerto Rican. The Latina actress is famous for the fast talking and comedic characters she usually plays. Rosie Perez has a twin sister, Carmin; a half sister Magda, and a half brother, Ray. She is multitalented, as she is not only an actress but she is also a choreographer, dancer, and actor. She also has her own group, called 5 A.M.

Rosie Perez started in the eighties when she was dancing for Soul Train. Her next career move was choreographing music videos for popular artists such as Bobby Brown, LL Cool J, and Diana Ross. She also choreographed the opening sequence for Do The Right Thing, and In Living Color. Rosie Perez’s first film was White Men Can’t Jump, in 1991. She has also starred in Night on Earth, Untamed Heart, Fearless, It Could Happen To You, and Somebody to Love. In 1994 she won a Special Mention Award at the Berlin International Film Festival for her role in Fearless. She also won a Boston Society of Film Critics Award for Best Supporting Actress, as well as a Chicago Film Critics Association Awards for Best Supporting Actress, all for her work on Fearless.
